Select larger apartments, including some 4-, 5-, and 6-bedroom layouts, also include accent chairs. Yes. The Standard at Philadelphia allows pets, with a maximum of two animals permitted per unit. All pets and animals must be disclosed and approved before move-in.

Restricted breeds include Chow Chow, German Shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Mastiff breeds, Staffordshire Terrier breeds, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Cane Corso, Akita, Siberian Husky, Dogo Argentino, Alaskan Malamute, Wolf-hybrid, and any mix of these breeds.

No. Exotic animals are not permitted at The Standard at Philadelphia. This includes birds such as parrots and toucans, reptiles such as snakes, rodents such as ferrets, fish, and insects.

8. General Leasing & Property Information

To sign a housing contract at The Standard at Philadelphia, students need their Social Security number, a valid ID such as a driver’s license or state ID, and guarantor information if applicable. Knowing preferred roommates ahead of time is helpful, but it is not required to secure a spot in our Philadelphia student apartments.

Yes. The Standard at Philadelphia offers individual housing contracts. Each resident signs for their own bedroom space rather than the entire apartment, so one roommate’s monthly installment does not become another roommate’s responsibility in the case of broken leases or missed payments.

Yes. The Standard at Philadelphia uses RoomSync for roommate matching. The app helps residents choose roommates using preferences such as cleanliness, study habits, sleep schedules, and other lifestyle factors.

Guarantor information may be required during the application process, depending on the resident’s situation. Residents who have sufficient income to self-qualify for one of our off-campus UPenn apartments may not need a guarantor to sign their lease. The Standard at Philadelphia offers full academic-year lease terms. Lease terms run from August through July 31 and from September through July, and are paid in 12 installments spread throughout the year.

Yes. Residents must meet the property’s coverage requirement before move-in. This can be done by enrolling in the Damage Waiver Program for a monthly fee or by purchasing liability insurance separately and submitting proof of coverage to the leasing office.
